The accommodation we provide has been designed to make our residents feel comfortable in their surroundings. We actively encourage residents to furnish their room with some of their own belongings to promote a sense of familiarity.

The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and all have a vanity unit and self-contained, en-suite toilet facility.

Facilities include: digital Freeview TV aerial point and SKY box connection, BT telephone point, lockable bedside cabinet; switched lighting and hard-wired Call-bell system and privacy thumb-turn to bedroom door.

To make Nower House more ‘homely’ it is divided into two Annexes, Woodcote and Newra. These provide an extensive and unusual amount of communal areas, which include 2 large Lounge/Dining Rooms, 1 Quiet Lounge, 2 TV rooms and a Conservatory where residents can relax or entertain their visitors.

Nower House is equipped with a variety of bathing options including an electric ‘Parker type’ bath, 2 walk/sit- in shower cubicles and 5 hoist access normal bath tubs.

Our staff are here to encourage residents to continue their hobbies and pursuits, and to discover new ones from the varied programme designed by our two ‘full time', Activities Staff. Within the Home arts, crafts, games, talking books, recorded plays, video shows and musical entertainment
are organised.

Frequent day excursions or trips outside the home are also arranged. These daily activities are organised to promote physical and mental stimulation, self esteem, and social interaction with other residents.

Staff, residents and their families, and volunteers combine together to organise special events which provide a focus of interest, whilst at the same time being a social occasion for the residents.
